Space Invaders Infinity Gene App Reviews

If youre a fan of Galaga or space invaders this is right up your alley but with a GREAT modern twist. Have a few bucks to spend on a game? This is your choice. 5 stars. Fun gameplay with levels and upgrades to keep things fresh. The soundtrack is phenomenal and the level designs are great. Go ahead and pick this up for the holidays.

Would it kill the devs to add icade support for this game? I mean seriously, what is the freaking holdup? Taito... No one is interested in your shoddy icade knockoff. One button is not enough. One game is not enough. You should have realized this before even entering the prototype phase. You will never recoup whatever money you wasted making those stupid things. Never. So how bout getting over yourselves and doing what you should have done in the first place. Oh, and by no stretch of the imagination does merely slapping on a new version number and submitting a thuroughly unchanged app to apple constitute a "bug fix".

Terrific game. Fast-paced. Highly addictive. Challenging. Great visual style and sound. Once you get into it, its rather short. There are some unlockable levels, weapons, and other content.

Loses a star for extreme brevity and sometimes unresponsive controls, but I love the creativity in weapons, enemies, and its nifty amped retro graphics—the soundtracks OK (technos not my thing), but itll generate levels matched to your own music, which is pretty cool. It leaves me feeling what wasnt explored creatively more than what was, so hopefully theyll add updates with stuff like gravity wells, portals you have to pop around through, and generally take fuller ownership and command of the broader gaming stage. Would appreciate widescreen and the 3D levels to which others have alluded. Excellent execution on expanding perhaps the most iconic videogame there ever was.

I love this game so much I have ps3 version so I had to get this however I would like to see an update in the screen resolution so it fills it on the iPhone 5.

Ive had this game since my iphone 3 and now have it on my ipad 3 as well. Never gets old-- great to replay. Thank you Taito for not charging me to DL the ipad version

UPDATE 2: I have to lower my rating to 1 star because there is *no workaround* to the phone call issue. I get frequent calls, so that almost every time I try to play through the stages or survival mode I get a call and my score and achievements are lost. I tried airplane mode; nobody was able to call, but after I got a high score, it forgot it and didnt post it after I turned off airplane mode. There is no way to turn off calls on an iPhone without turning off cellular data too. STGs are no fun if you cant post highscores, and thus, this game is no fun. Actually its much worse because it frustrates me so much. There are some glaring problems that bring it down to 2 stars that most other shmups dont have a problem with. The killer is the first one. *) If you get a call during a game, when you hang up, the app restarts itself. Had a world record billion points? Too bad, its gone. Ive recently lowered my rating of this game to 2 stars because its so frustrating losing hours of gameplay to a phone call. With this game you really have to turn your phone calls off first, and risk losing a friend or losing your mind. *) No leaderboards for each ship/shot type. Different ships score differently, so that means that pro shmupers will only ever be playing with one ship. What a waste. *) please get those obviously hacked scores off the leaderboards. Shmups are about scoring and tainted leaderboards ruin our fun. *) ship control not as accurate as a Cave title. Precision is important, and swiping your finger in small increments or very low speed doesnt move your ship. Theres kind of a coefficient of static friction that blocks your ship from starting moving, making it hard to dodge thick bullets.

This is by far the best game Ive purchased for my phone. Worth the $5 definitely. It makes custom levels to the music in your library

Stunning graphics and gameplay, such an improvement from the classic old school arcade game. Taito needs to keep updating this app and add new/more levels and features. Its bananas.

This game is awful, I downloaded it by accident thinking it was the original Space Invaders. This is some crazy game that only has side to side movement of your ship. You dont even shoot your own missiles, the game does it for you. I am so sorry that I spent any money on this. Dont bother trying to contact them, the link to the developers on their website warns you of phishing and goes nowhere.

This is the only game thats been on my phone from my iPhone 3G, to my iPhone 4, and now my iPhone 5. I think it might even be the first game I bought on my 3G, because I grew up playing the original Space Invaders. The game is made incredibly replayable due to the music stages. Two updates since the iPhone 5 shipped and still no widescreen support?! Taito? Are you listening at all? Very frustrated with the lack of updates. Have removed a star on my rating because Taito wont update Infinity Gene for the iPhone 5. We are rapidly approaching a year since the iPhone 5 was released, and still no iPhone 5 update for a game that would REALLY benefit from the extra screen size. Becoming very disappointed. It isnt just a matter of the graphics not extending to the edges of the screen, but it is very easy for your finger to slip off of the are that the game is playing in, and thereby lose control of the ship. Taito, please update.
